For sale, is my 2.5L diesel, green and black, 1985 Land Rover Defender, AKA Lizzy! This is a reluctant sale, but I need to let her to go to a good home, due to a 2 year overseas job opportunity I’ve taken. The car has a 200Tdi engine fitted that runs excellently and is more than capable of doing long distances. I’ve frequently driven the car long distance and encountered no problems. Inside and out my defender is well maintained with plenty of aftermarket additions that make using this defender more joyful and easy, such as the front and rear camera, rear flood lights, leather cubby box and good storage installations. There is next to no rust as you’ll see in all the pictures. The under body has recently been treated with Lanogaurd and grease to prevent the build-up of any rust from water, road salt etc. Engine Oil and Oil filter was last changed in September 23 and surprisingly for a defender as old as Lizzy I’ve encountered no oil leaks! The car has only done 52000 km (32000 Miles) in its long, long life as you’ll see from the dashboard picture. After speaking to the previous owner who also took great care of this car, I believe this is due to its ex-military history. This Defender was sold from the MOD in 2014 to its first private owner. Prior to this sale, the Defender was owned by the Royal Signals and was used to ferry officers around camp and the local area. It was stood for long times hence the milage. This Defender is also great for camping and wild camping due to the modifications and kit! I’ll happy sell her with all the camping accessories. This includes tailor made internal window covers, Memory Foam single bed, large Power unit, foldable table and chair, Cooking stove and gas, Awning with pegs and poles, spare seats for 5 more people, spare oil and filters. The Defender has had plenty of work done over the past few years such as a brand-new complete exhaust system, brand-new rear cross member, work on the steering and front brakes, new tyres, glossy black painted wheels, new grille, after market LED headlights and much more as you can see by the paperwork I have. One of the best points about this defender is that she is 1 year away from becoming a classic car! At this point I believe the Car will become MOT, ULEZ and Tax exempt.I will be genuinely sad to see this car go, but more importantly, it makes me happy that someone has the opportunity to experience the same level of joy I’ve experienced, with this amazing piece of British history 🙂
